LPP500 pumps – syphon action
In order to start the syphon action, open the syphon fully by turning valve button and then pump the handle until the fluid starts to flow. Make sure the end of the hose is well below the level of fluid in the drum and stop pumping. The valve button can then be left full open or closed slightly to control the rate of flow. To stop the syphon action, simply close the valve button completely.
Insulated Anti-Static Grounding Wires
Static electricity may be generated by the operation of hand pumps – particularly rotary pumps. In order to prevent sparking caused by static build-up, when pumping flammable liquids a bonding wire must be used. i.e. the container must be grounded to earth by means of a conductive earthing lead fastened between the container and a suitable grounded earth point.
In order to determine the materials needed to handle your fluid(s), please refer to our fluid compatibility chart. By cross referencing fluid in question in the left hand vertical column, with the materials along the top horizontal section, you will be able to establish which components will be suitable for your liquid. You can then select a pump from our range according to it’s material composition – i.e. ‘wetted parts’. Please ensure that the compatibility is rated ‘A’ or ‘B’.

ENGINEERED PLASTICS
We are now able to offer a vast range of lightweight, durable and incredibly strong products that make day-to-day work processes simpler and more efficient. The use of engineered plastics has revolutionised the handling of fluids in today’s industrial arena. Since their invention and introduction, it is now possible to handle, pump and transfer a vast number of liquids more efficiently and much more cost effectively. These materials form a group of plastics and thermoplastics that have superb mechanical and thermal properties, and as such have gradually replaced traditional engineering materials such as iron, steel and non-ferrous metals in many applications. The lower cost of raw materials, quicker and simpler production of components and simpler assembly procedures have dramatically reduced the cost of manufacture, creating inexpensive products of the highest quality. Furthermore, the durability and longevity of our products has vastly reduced the need for maintenance and spare parts, and product lifespan is excellent.
Environmental Improvement
The removal of the requirement for the production of high volumes of ferrous metals has reduced the environmental impact of production of the finished product; additionally the more compact and lightweight nature of packaged finished goods massively reduces the carbon footprint of transportation.
