"Paramount" Petrol Pump Test Measures
The Paramount range of 'Varigauge' Test Measures quickly test the accuracy of the forecourt petrol pump and highlight where a pump is dispensing more fuel than necessary or less than the legal requirement. The fuel is dispensed into the container until the display matches the capacity of the Test Measure and the glass scale in the filler neck then allows the operator to read off, in millilitres, how accurately the pump is calibrated. Each measure comes complete with a robust carrying case to protect from damage. Available in the following capacities TMVL05: 5 litre TMVL10: 10 litre TMVL20: 20 litre The glass scale in the filler neck covers the amounts allowed by the W & M Dept. for both the deficiency of 0.03% and the surplus of 0.05%. The scale on the 20 & 10 litre capacity test measures has graduations of 25ml increments extending from 100ml below the zero mark to 200ml above it. On the 5 litre measure the scale is graduated in 5ml increments from 25ml below to 50ml above zero. Instructions for use: - Ensure that the test measure is internally dry and free from debris prior to use.
- Please the measure on a flat level surface.
- Carefully insert the dispensing nozzle into the top of the brass tube.
- Dispense 5/10/20 litres of fuel from the pump into the test measure.
- Visually read off the fuel level against the calibration on the sight glass.
- Note – the measure should remain in an inverted position for a minimum of 3 minutes between tests to ensure complete drainage.
N.B. Always use a funnel to return the fuel from the test measure back into the tank or other receptacle. The glass sight gauge can easily be broken and the brass neck can suffer damage from rough usage. - The sight glass and/or brass neck are replaceable.
- The cone and main body are not repairable.
Weights & Measures Test Certificates. Certificates are available at extra cost. This entails the measure being tested at the W & M laboratory to confirm our own calibration and a certificate is supplied. The adjusting mechanism on the can is then sealed and a W & M serial no. applied to the can.
